Real Artist

What happen to THE “REAL ARTIST?”

Do you REMEMBER the days of “REAL MUSIC”? I do, Do you remember the days when singers could actually “SING” I do? I remember when musicians could actually sing acapella. I remember when artist sang from their hearts and brought so much substance and emotion to the stage, that the sound of their voices literally put you in a trace. Music use to have much more substance, it was enjoyable, memorable, heartfelt and respectful!  Much of the sounds of 70’s & 80’s were so Entertaining, Conscious and much of it was delivered by actual “Vocalist” NOT Auto Tune.  The music labels have succeeded in delivering more popcorn music that is sang by money driven NONE TALENTED ARTIST! Gone are the days where the MAJORITY of musicians sang from a place of love and passion. The Industry isn’t supporting “REAL ARTIST” they’re supporting “REAL GARBAGE”. MUCH LOVE to the “Real Artist” of today that are delivering substance such as , Jill Scott, Eryka Badu, Lauryn Hill, Jaheim, Musiq Soul Child, Troop, Steven Russell, Bruno Mars, Maxwell, India Arie, Sade, Jazmine Sullivan,  Eshe, Jennifer Hudson, Angie Stone,Janelle Monae, Floacist, Alicia Keys,John Legend, Anthony Hamilton, Lenny Kravitz, Icon Teena Marie and Many More. Gone are the days of Motown where Artist Development and Substance” was a Priority. Thank Goodness, I still have my cassette tapes from the 1980′s. I keep REAL MUSIC a live by supporting “REAL ARTIST” and I encourage you to do the same. Make Room For Substance and Support  “Quality Music”. Ms.LTR

Now I can live without “My Radio”

I remember growing up in the 1980’s and I enjoyed listening to the radio. The radio use to play a collection of awesome “REAL ARTIST” such as Anita Baker,  Freddy Jackson, Atlantic Star, Whitney Houston, Chaka Chan, Ready for the world, Tina Turner, Prince, Rick James, Karen White, Phil Collins, Billy Ocean, Sting, Duran Duran, Kenny G, U2, Michael Jackson, Run DMC, Annie Lennox , The Pet Shop boys and many more.  I remember when music on the radio was “BALANCEDNOT ANYMORE! During the past 25yrs the music industry has taken a TURN FOR THE WORST. Not only are labels using MOST musicians as puppets to market trash, but the radio has become a stage for  the puppet show to the next level. There is NO DIVERSITY ON THE RADIO TODAY. The music that is consistently in rotation is music driven by lyrics of NO SUBSTANCE and by singers who CAN’T SING. If this generation only listens to the radio, they’ll NEVER know what “REAL MUSIC” is or what an “REAL ARTIST” sounds like!  Ms.LTR

MUCH LOVE To “REAL HIP HOP Artist”

As of today, I still rock  my Dougie E, Fresh, Run DMC, Too Short, D-Nice, Queen Latifah, Big Daddy Kane, De La Soul, EPMD, Eric B & Rakim, Mc Lyte, Monie Love, Mc Shay D, Boogie Down Productions, The Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Slick Rick, Heavy D, The Sugar Hill Gang, D.O.C, Fresh Prince , Dana Dana , NWA and much more. I can go on and on, I remember when Hip Hop had a message and a delivery. When artist like Dougie E Fresh grabbed the microphone to spit, he you heard passion. Regardless of the topic people connected with REAL HIP HOP ARTIST because they spoke from their hearts. Nowadays, I don’t know what the hell is going on! I call these dudes on the radio “RAPPERS” NOT HIP HOP ARTIST. Artistry requires that you develop and master a craft , a Hip Hop Artist is a lyricist, a spitter without thought, a writer without a pen and a messenger with a message of substance. Yes we had groups like NWA which was considered gangster rap, but  I can respect those brothers out of Compton because they were talking about their reality and everyone’s reality isn’t a bed of roses! So Much Love to the “REAL Hip Hop Artist” of today such as Dougie E. Fresh,  B.O.B, Kid Cudi, Common, Mos Def, Jay Z, Eminem,  Jay Z, Drake,T.I, Kayne West, Timberland, Missy Elliot, Arrested Development,  Chuck D, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Outkast , Fabulous, Lupe Fiaco and Many More.  Keep REAL HIP HOP alive and keep the substance following! Lastly I say, SUPPORT REAL ARTIST and bring back the balance in music, even the human body needs a balance of good and bad bacteria to survive. Word Up! Ms.LTR
